Job Description

Role description: The Data Management and Governance Lead oversees the strategic planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of data management practices within the organization. This role ensures that data assets are effectively managed, secured, and leveraged to drive business outcomes. This role plays a critical part in shaping the organization’s data landscape, ensuring data reliability, and unlocking its full potential.

Key responsibilities:
•    Data Strategy and Governance:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive data strategy aligned with organizational goals.
  • Establish data governance policies, standards, and procedures.
  • Monitor compliance with data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).

•    Data Quality and Integrity:

  • Define and enforce data quality standards.
  • Implement data profiling, cleansing, and validation processes.
  • Collaborate with business units to improve data accuracy.

•    Data Architecture and Infrastructure:

  • Design and maintain data architecture, including data lakes, warehouses, and pipelines.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate data management tools and technologies.
  • Ensure scalability, security, and performance of data systems.

•    Data Analytics and Insights:

  • Work closely with data analysts and data scientists to extract actionable insights.
  • Enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Foster a culture of data literacy and self-service analytics.

Key stakeholders:
•    Senior Executives: Provide data-driven insights for strategic planning.
•    IT Teams: Collaborate on data infrastructure and security.
•    Business Units: Understand their data needs and align solutions accordingly.
•    Security, Legal and Compliance: Ensure adherence to data privacy laws.
